Possible Catalina camping/fishing trip
« on: April 11, 2010, 04:56:09 pm »
Alright Guys I am on a Cat trip coming up in May with a ton of so-cal guys. Looks fun from what I have seen its in May. What I am thinking is getting a Nor Cal trip going with guys from up here. If I get enough interest in it I will put it together. But with everything looking at around 200 bucks for 3 solid days of fishing maybe in September or October. Fishing should be really hot with the yellows going off as they usually do by then. Just PM me or reply here I need enough replies or PM's to even start planning it out.

When you say yellows, are you refering to yellowtail? Sounds like a fun trip. I went there a few decades ago, and always thought it would be a great place for yak fishing. Lots of state fish down there, you could see em from shore. Girabaldi, here they taste great!!!  :smt005 They let you bring your yaks on the ferry? I'm interested.

used to go to summer camp on catalina and we would dive and spear every day, first day would always be the garibaldi talk, do not shoot these fish, they are big and gold, you see this color do not shoot, and every year that first night we would have a special dinner, what kind of fish is this cook, good thats all you need to know, lol, cameron

I would be interested, always wanted to camp on Catalina.  Let us know some details.

I'd be taking the dive gear along if I go.
