Oakland Airport 2/8

I fished from 9:30 to 2:00 between the Harbor Bay Ferry and the Oakland Airport.  I caught 5 sharks and several fat kingfish, but sadly, no sturgeon this time.

While out there,  I met a boater name Mike "aka: thebottomline" from the Coastside board.  He was on VHF chnl 19.  I guess it's the local channel.   He was very slowly cruising the area for tell-tail sturgeon marks on his FF and found several, so he dropped anchor and invited me to fish nearby.  Apparently, he's landed many sturgeon around the aiport.  He told me that the 2nd place winner in last weekend's sturgeon derby was caught at the airport.  It was a 63 incher.
