Well... the wind was blowing but the sun was out. A nice group of guys and gals to hang out with making an otherwise slow fishing day more bearable. Plus, good eats... yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Melissa and I slept in a bit and got out there at about 10am on Sat. There were a couple of guys out on the water and a few milling around in camp. The wind was marginal so I decided to head out along with most of the others. A few hung back which was a good thing. Melissa didn't want to paddle in the wind so she hung with Hojoman and enjoyed his company. Plus, she scored a great butt pad from him. Most of the guys fished the area out in front of the group camp. I decided to paddle out to the islands. After over an hour of paddling, I finally get there and start to fish. The wind was picking up a bit. I got a nice take down but came up empty. I circled around again and got another take down. This one stuck and I landed a nice little keeper. The wind really turned up a few notches and I decided to head for camp. The wind waves were peaking at about 2 1/2 - 3' and the gusts were fierce. I got caught in a shit storm out there but, I knew at worse I'd just get blown to the rock wall. Fighting the wind the whole way, it seemed like it took me forever to get back.
Back on land, we started to cook up the grub. We ate hard... to much goodness and not enough stomach. I was stuffed. There was chicken, pork loin, tri tip, asparagus, fried rice, fried fish, big brauts of some kind and of course... beer. After eating and eating and eating... the wind died down enough to where Melissa wanted to work off her meal. She paddled out and I followed. On our way back to the launch, I got a take down that didn't stick. About 250 yards of shore... I got a taker that actually gave me a little ride. I had 6lb test so I didn't want to horse him it but he tired out and onto the game clip he went.
The fishing was really slow for everybody out there. I was lucky enough to catch 2 good size eating fish. I think there were 2 other nonkeepers caught that day. It's all good though.

Big thanks to Howard for hooking Melissa up with a sweet butt pad and for hooking me up with a butt pad as well. Looks like I won't be needing to use my pfd as my butt pad anymore. Also, thanks for the rod keepers.

Thanks to Andy for disc-frying everything in sight. It was allllllll good. Also, we need to get a new name for this guy. Fish Master1 doesn't suit him. He needs a vicious name like the first blood kid or have beer will hit or something  :smt044 More on that later....

Also, it was great to meet Sara, Frank and Pete out there. Never met them before. Pete came a long ways to hang out... too bad the WX and fishing wasn't better. Maybe next time.

And as always, it's always good to see JDYak, Sin Coast, EWB, JedMo, AlsHobieOutback and of course Moochie again. BTW... Mooch... How's that split lip doing???

fish score from the 19 to the 21st....

Friday - Jdyak scores one schoolie striper (released) and looses one by the yak
Saturday - Fred kept 2 keepers, Sarah released one schoolie, Jdyak released one schoolie
Sunday - Joel released one schoolie and Tui Chub / Pete (from Reno) released one schoolie and one keeper

Weather report: It NEVER rained on Friday and Saturday. Sunday morning, we got a drizzle...

in other news.....

"Fishmaster Gone Wild"
* Andy and John / jdyak try to wrestle "Sexy 240 / Mooch" to the ground....jdyak gets tossed to the ground and almost cracks his skull on the cement post while Andy nearly gets his nuts crunched...Mooch dominates using MMA / street fighting skillzzzz
* 20 minutes later, Andy sits right next to mooch and throws his elbow to unsuspecting mooch.....mooch's chin and lower lip bleeds.....Andy later explained his rash and bold behavior:  "your ugly and I just don't like you"
* Later that evening, Andy attempts to set Hojoman on fire by dumping a big ball of tumble weed right on the bon fire...just a couple of feet away from Hojoman....(Hojo barely escapes 3rd degree burns on his entire body)

camp ground pics....

Thanks again to Bill for paying for the site. Group Camp Site B was an A+ (best I've seen so far). One of the covered benches had nightlights, an electrical socket, a rotating man-grill and a water fountain nearby. The bathrooms had flush toilets and a coin operated shower. There was also a dish washing / fish cleaning station next to the bathrooms. Lot's of flat grassy area to pitch tents on and best of all, we had our own water front launch area. And we also had the option of locking the parking lot to keep the day users at bay.

Nice hooking up with everybody again. I only wished the fishing was a bit more
friendly. Well, catching fish would have been just an icing on a cake. I love the
campsite. The place has everything you could possibly ask for. Nice and clean
with just a few steps to the water. This particular campsite would be perfect for
another camping\fishing get together. Thanks again to all who brought some
awesome grubs. I ate and drank so much I kept falling asleep behind the wheel on
my way home. BTW, nice keeper striper Freddie. Next time you know who I will
be following around right? :smt003 Here's some pictures to share.
