GF wanted to go hiking and had found this park over in Alameda and  I agreed to go.  Weather was brisk and very windy.  There is a small pond there and it is a really nice hiking area.  There was no one at the front gate so there was no entrance fee (no envelope either to drop off, I don't get this system, but what ever).  I met another guy there at the dock who had said in the past he had caught some LMB's  and catfish.  I was there primarily for hiking not fishing, and GF had encouraged me to bring the pocket fisherman, I tried some power bait off the bottom to no avail, and made a few dozen casts with firebody knast master, also to no avail. To be honest, the other guy hadn't gotten anything either and I had a couple of hours of hiking ahead of me, so after 45 minutes I decided to get my tail moving and enjoy the rest of the hike with GF.

As for the view up there it was great, but be fore warned the wind gets blowing pretty strong.  At the top of one of the hills we watched a Falcon try to ride wind, and even it was getting tossed about.  From our vantage point we could see the skyline of SF, Coyote Hills, San Mateo, Quarry Lake over in Fremont very clearly.  According to Bay Area Hiker, the place gets stocked periodically, now when the last time was, I have no idea.  If you want to take your kids some where to see cows and fly kites then this is the place for you.  If you like old farm machinery rusting in fields also nice place to visit.  My apologies on the lack of pics, GF thought if we didn't bring the camera I might break my skunk streak.  Nice thought just didn't work that way today.
