I am trying to decide on what type of anchor system to install on my P.T. 15. I read the tutorial by Tote on the Q.R.A.S. and it seemed like a good system that even I could install.(nice job Tote). When I went to the Sportmans Expo I also looked at some of the other anchor systems such as the anchor being at the very rear and center of yak. Also anchor on the side near the rear, and an anchor on a trolley system. What are some thoughts of some of you veteran yak anglers on what is best all around. Lakes, river's, lots of bay and soon to be ocean fishing. I don't want to start drilling holes until I am sure of my best options.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks B.A.

I threw away all the fancy stuff when I saw tote's post, I use the rear center pad eye where the rear handle attaches, just put a clip on the handle so when I'm gonna use the anchor I take off the handle,

Parts required, 10ft of floating line, 1 stainless steel ring, 1 cleat.

simplest easiest best working anchor setup I ever had.  thanks Tote.

I use a quick release, with the anchor attachment point being the very rear (for low to med current) and bow for really nasty days.
seems to have worked well for five for six years worth of sturgeon fishing...

fixed line attached at the stern, quick release cleat at my hip that the tag end attaches to, then a big ole carabiner attached to the anchor that goes over that fixed line. Pull the rip cord line on the cleat and away the anchor line goes....

Same here. I had the trolly for three years and found I hardly used the anchor off the front. I now have the tote version. I used it last week at the San Luis chill and stayed perfectly in line stern into the wind. And it was BLOWING 15-20mph

I did the trolly on my first P-15:
 1. Always making noise
 2. always attached to yak
 3. Many hooks got stuck in it
 4. pain to detach (quick release) anchor when hooked up
 5. More hardware to attach to yak

Used Totes system on all my boats since:
 1. No more noise
 2. No more tangles
 3. No more fuss
 4. No more complaints

Yeah this one is kinda like wheels (vs. Wheeleez) thread. Just don't fight it.  Learn from other and do this one.

Simplier is always better.  All I did was use an 1/4-20 eye bolt that fit perfectly in the rudder holes (I don't have a rudder), some line tied to that running up to the cleat by my right side.  All Done, removable  by simply unscrewing the eyebolt.  A modified version of Tote's.

QRAS is the only way. If you are anchored say for sturgeon fishing on the outgoing tide, you just arent going to move the trolley so your anchor line puts you sideways to the curent. That couls be big trouble. You want it in the rear so put it there with the release. I attach a piece of climbing rope like Dale says/ i dont drill anything I attach a loop through the rear carry handle. the ring on the end of the anchor line goes over the rope attached to the t-handle and up to the cam-lock or clamcleat. An inline float 10 ft back with 50 ft of anchor line.

Funny I ordered the trolley system before I even got the kayak on the water.
Now the hardware just sits in my garage. I ended up going with the Tote
system and it works just great.

I have the scotty trolly type in my garage as well. SCAllen and I looked at it when we where building my T-15 and quickly decided to go the Tote route. Since I had the T-15 with rudder I already had a cleat. A little rope and a clip and I was all done, no drilling or anything.

Just do it! :-)
