Since I'm beyond starting to close in on "old fart" status I've had the good fortune to experience at lot of sounds.  Pretty much can find something good in just about every genre, although it's pretty hard for me when it comes to rap...

I guess at this point I gotta say that there are a couple of particular tunes that make me take some additional pause to reflect:

1) America the Beautiful
2) Star Spangled Banner

But... if a RUSH tune comes on, even while driving the family in the minivan, it stays on until its complete without interuption...  Beauty Eh?

Swing Jazz, most jazz music will take me out on a outdoor retreat or when I'm driving in the car Jazz and Classical.

I don't think it gets much better than this:

You can get just as drunk on water
As you can get on dry land.

Lately has been bluegrass and the dead.  Dupp Brothers from SoCal and Belle Monroe from SF.  I put on Hazel Dickens when this mama's boy misses his long gone Mom.  The Dead remind me of good times past but prefer Jerry Garcia Band over the Dead any day.  When I wanna slaughter shit I slap on some good ole AC/DC or Sabbath.  If I wanna get down to some soul searching I put on some Coltrane or Sidney Bechet blues.  Black Crowes give my aouthern rock fill and are in play every day. When i got girl problems I put on some Too Short cuz bitch, pimps need love too.

That's a damn good list! Covers all the moods though I'd definitely add old-school Metallica (stuff arranged by Cliff Burton) to the "get your slay-on" list.

Add this 24/7 all day long any mood simply amazing! RIP SRV!!!!!!

And my feeble attempts at keeping my sanity LOL!
