My new T-15
« on: January 25, 2010, 03:59:31 pm »
I am so stoked I picked up my new T-15 Friday from the great Allen Bushnell. He was nice enough to help me pimp it out. I got the non-angler and pretty much followed SCWAfish/SBD pimping with one addition. The GoPro mount in the front.

I hear you.  Although I think my fishing is heading in the opposite direction.  2 children under the age of 3 explains why I haven't fished since October. :smt010

It's OK, I measured my oldest on the Hobie Sport at the San Mateo ISE and she is about a foot shy of reaching the pedals.  I'm guestimating that to be 2 years away. :smt044

which GoPro camera did you get?  I was thinking of purchasing the basic GoPro (Standard Def. Wide Hero).  For yaks, do you think it's better to get the surf version?  The surf version has a leash system, but I don't think yak anglers need it.  What's your opinion?  thx.

Gee, I didn't know that drilling holes in a new yak was so painful.  I didn't feel that much pain when I did mine, just a couple of twinges.  You have two perfect reasons for not getting out much, never fear though; they may get the fever from you and then you'll be spending a lot more time on the water.  Not always fishing though, but that doesn't really matter.

I got the GoPro HD Helmet cam version. They are all the same camera, they just come with different attachments. I figure I can rig up a little float or leash to it in case it comes off. The mount seems solid though. I would only be worried in surf launches not for normal cruising around.

It's a video camera so I just need to start recording. I will probably catch a lot of boring footage but that is what editing is for. :-) I also have a strap that I can put it on my head like a helmet cam. I also have some plans to send it underwater...

I like it, I have been eyeing the same model to use for surfing and fishing. Will there be a red carpet event for the debut film? Is it weighted to use as downrigger?

It can take 5 MP pictures every 2 seconds once you set it.

I have an idea to rig it about 5 feet above a rockfish jig, pointing right down the line. I will probably hook the camera up to a different rob and reel in case I get snagged.

Very Nice, Bill.

Here's a tip for allowing drainage through a scupper hole with a transducer installed.  Bumpers and washer (modified) from Home Depot.
