Me neither. My best friends have 3 dogs, 6 cats, and a newborn baby girl. That's a whole lotta crap to clean up after. Better them than me.  :smt005 jim

Heading back out to the Socal Dez for some more moto-funtime-camping after Christmas. We went to Jawbone last year. It was a blast. Gonna try Spangler this year. Hopefuly won't find any old mineshafts the hard way.  :smt005  Here's a few pics from last year. Any other NCKA trail or motocross riders out there?  :smt006 jim

Finally went crabbin today. But had to surf first. It was fun! Then drove into D.B. to try to launch by the jetty which wasn't happenin do to hard onshore winds, whitecaps, and wind waves. Was going to call it a day but then remembered 'the Harbor'. Launched at the boat ramp into the harbor late 3:45 and caught my first crab. Whippee! A nice 6" red. Also 'caught' a 4oz diamond jig while 'watering the rocks' while the pots soaked.

Unfortunately I found out that 3mil neoprene gloves are insufficient in preventing the pain that occurs when the stupid crab clamps down on your thumb and trys to snap it like a twig. Actually tore my skin thru the glove.  :smt005 I also found out that the channel inbetween the jettys might look good from one direction but if the tide is going out and the winds are blowing 'in' it's best to stay away. I got half way out and just hit wave after wave of really steep and tightly spaced wind waves before I turned around back into the harbor.

Met a couple of Coastside guys in the parking lot, Mario & Nate, who crabbed for limits of sport size dungies up off of Carmet. I wanted to launch up there too but it was too windy to risk it today on the yak. Next time. jim

The pic of the sign is from the locked gate that leads into the Goat Rock parking lot. Classic huh?

Cool Adam. I figure this thread is a good place to post non-kayakfishing or diving reports of other sporting activities. jim

Yep. I didn't own a motorcycle for 20 years but one of my best friends of 30 years is a moto-nut and I finally caved when a particularly killer deal came up on Craigslist. This was after riding his, his wife's, his dad's, and his 60+ year old's mom's bikes and developing a renewed appetite for riding up in the forests and hills. I too was scared to get back on but it's actually not much more dangerous than mountain biking IMO as long as you aren't trying to go crazy fast. If you surf/bodyboard you can ride a dirtbike no problem. The problem is trying to find the time to kayakfish, surf, and ride! Hopefuly we can get a NCKA kayakfish + surf session in this summer when rockfish starts up again! I love a double header day.....topped with a six pack of beers of course.  :smt004

Thanks for the Jam!!

Your welcome!  :smt001

Cool vid. I used to work with a guy that was a boat mechanic reserve coastie for that station. He said, at the time, that was a good one to be stationed at. jim
