PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Fix The Gallery!!!

I miss the gallery so much for doing reports, browsing pictures, and creating an archive of all the trips and events that I have been going too, etc...   I've asked several times, but never get a response.  I know it's not crucial to the site to have the gallery running, but its a great feature!  It's only the thumbnail generation that's not working, but without it the gallery is kinda useless...

It is on my todo list but not very high. Frankly I am even considering removing it because it is way more work than any other part of the site and there are plenty of free online galleries that people can use and include there pics in your post. I good choice would be flickr.com

Bill, I fully understand that the gallery issue probably is low on the totem pole as far as priorities go.  And its your time and energy to keep the site running.  So if you want to do away with it, that's your call and I wont whine about it    I do feel that it would be a shame to do away with it, since sooooooo many reports and articles that were using the gallery for images will be without any pictures.

Maybe some will go back and touch up the articles that are really cool with their flicker accounts, but I'll be sad to see some of my favorite old posts go without pictures.  I for one wanted to use the NCKA Gallery specifically so I would be sure that my old posts stayed intact.  But again, I'll support what ever your decisions is Bill.

If I did away with it I would not delete the old pictures, just close it to new ones.

What about the possibility of having a NCKA flickr account, or something similar where all our pictures could be at the same place?  I haven't really thought it through, just thinking outloud really...
