http://www.napili.com/

Ocean Front Condos little off the beaten path, Cove in front of Resort has Turtles and fish sandy beach 2 min walk. Great snorkeling just up the road or down to Black Rock not too far from other activities. Our teenagers loved this place BBQs on the back grass, nice and clean.

Is it your daughters' first trip?

Kaanapali Beach Resort Area or Napili (like Mike suggested).  Lots of fun, food, shopping in Whalers Village, with a boardwalk that stretches miles.  Good beginner surf beach, proximity to Lahaina town. If you go here, you can save your money and pass on the trip to Molikini crater - the  best snorkeling is right out front at Black Rock.  This area is a good balance of both natural activities and commercial activities.

I agree with Yakuza that Lahaina is a great spot. I had stayed in Old Town Lahaina and had a blast. There was lots of great snorkeling out front. If the surf is down you can head down the island to a place called Turtle Beach. Supposed to be a sea turtle hang out.

If you do hit Maui, let me know.  I'm pretty well familiar with it and can take a stab at drafting a four to six day itinerary for you
