What other hobbies do you guys enjoy?

My hobbies are what balance my crazy life out.
 My list

 Kayak fishing of course
Anything ocean related, diving and surfing especially
 Smoking and collecting nice cigars
Listening to my stereo, upgrading and constantly tweaking it
Cooking and eating tasty food and beer
Gardening, especially nice to eat what you grow, herbs and veggies

other than this madness I just took up polespearing.  Calling my snorkeling free diving is a bit of a stretch.

I also like to ride bicycles both road and mountain, do some strength training, play the piano, and gather general knowledge.  Kind of a current events/ political junkie.  If I could retire today, I would and have not one minute wasted :smt004

Dirt biking, ab-diving, kayak-fishing, weightlifting, camping, surfing. Still looking for someone local to surf with. That would definitely get me out in the water more. But I am not going back to Baja for a while yet..... even though I really enjoyed all my trips down there. The wait will make the next trip even sweeter. jim

 :smt006  This site is one.

My other (Almost life long hobby)is astromony.  Below are a few of the telescopes I have.

This is my 20" f5 truss tube dob, an Obsession (thats the brand name, really)
This is my very first telescope, its a Meade 10" LX200 (now a classic) computerized goto

Both thses shots were taken at Yosemity, up at Glacier point.  Downtown Yosemity (forget the village name now) lies dirtectly below Glacier point 4000' below.
and I'm a HAM radio operator, hold a general class license.  Although I haven't been active on the radio for a few years now, I used to have a tower with the big beam and lots of smaller antennas all over it.  Living in a redwood forest kinda puts a hamper on both the astronomy and ham radio.

I enjoy post anonymously on newspaper blogs and getting everyone fired up, shooting my bow, hunting, learning guitar, drinking beer, good wine and fine cigars, and did I mention I enjoy post anonymously on newspaper blogs and getting everyone fired up?

Those are some serious telescopes!

Currently my addiction to fishing is pretty much all-encompassing. I am still a fan of music made by computers, although I haven't played out for a long time now

For Christmas I bought M'Lady a pheasant shooting class. I think we're going to be doing more of this in the future.

Of course, being British, I am continually watching soccer. And cricket.

Surfing, Fishing, Diving.

A friend of mine for JR High School showed me a yearbook from 9th grade recently.  I haven't seen this thing, well, since jr high.  There's my picture.....and my interests?  Surfing, Fishing, Diving.

Some people are really boring.  In a year I will have been a surfer for a half century.  Who would've thought I'd even survive that long?

Aside from fishing and fishing and fishing (esp. from kayak and stream fishing), running, hiking and backpacking (mainly to get to remote fishing places), fly fishing, bird watching (I see this as a form of fishing . . . trying to ID an unknown, flitting animal in the bush is like the anticipation of waiting for the fish to hit.  Then comes the true ID of the bird which, for me, has the exhilaration of the fish hitting my line), gardening, native plant ID, reading non-fiction outdoor lit. and college textbooks, animal tracking, Cal football, working on the house (esp. electrical work), organizing (strange as it seems) and tinkering, snowshoeing, cooking, teaching science, travel and more.  I retired last year and I still do not have enough time! My worry is that as I'm in my death throws it will be totally agonizing because I'll being running down my list of all the things I hadn't finished or done.
