Ditto. I've done plenty of surf launches and landings, but have just "winged it" from day 1. I've never really had any instruction, so I don't know the different paddle braces, etc. Luckily, I instinctively knew how to get back in my yak without ever being taught how....because I flipped my yak a mile out of Fort Ross my first time on the ocean. I was back in my yak in under 30 seconds.

Would also be good to get the GF out there in a structured class.
