That is my favorite tide site as well.
For weather, I just use the NOAA site.

Sorry but it's been a long week.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Yea John is right right really shouldn't but I will escape to Lake Sonoma on Sun. morning and troll for Steelhead for awhile then fish for smallies. Then back to the grindstone.  :shaking2:

Sean if you read this any comments on the landlocked Steelhead in Sonoma?

And Mooch no I'm not but should be.

This is a wind map for monterey bay.

The flag end points into the wind for some reason.

One thing to note is the

http://www.weather.nps.navy.mil/wx/latest_mbay.gif

way the salinas river valley works. Sometimes, when the high is over land the wind blows out of the valley and blows out to sea at moss landing. Good for surfing, probably not great for kayaking!

I like to use www.surfpulse.com.
It usually gives a good comprehensive report on wave height, wind swell, wind, swell, and of course tides.  Being that it is a Surf site unless you are used to the conversions for the Bay it won't help much.  I have found it extremely accurate.  The key is that it has a swell forcast for 5 days and an extended outlook.

Also a shark encouter page for Jmairey

I use surfpulse these days too, since my favorite forecaster, Dave Blake moved to Augusta Georgia to head up
a research lab there. Gioni P. took over, nothing against him, but da blakestah is irreplaceble.

jason, I hope I get a chance to fish lindamar with you and your muscles this year.
since I can't out run you or decoy you with beers either I'll try to be real nice!  :smt003

regarding sharks:

since you lived there your whole life, maybe you are familiar with the one recorded attack @ linda mar:

case 90 - Don Berry

On Friday, 12 March 1993, free-diving spear fisherman Don Berry, age 55, was attacked by a White Shark
some 125m from shore at Linda Mar Beach near Point San Pedro, close to montara, CA (37d35.8mN; 122d31.2mW).

(basically it hit his fin, he stuck it with his spear, it left but the holes in the fin were confirmed to be GWS tooth holes)

It may be almost two years since the last post on this thread, but I don't see either of these mentioned:

My favourite surf forecast site, very detailed and hasn't let me down yet. Link is for Mavericks but has forecasts for everywhere useful (be careful, units are metric!).

Also, SF Bay winds: http://windandtides.com/

I use several for surf, marine weather, and weather.  But mostly, I use Surfline.com for surf reports.  I use NOAA for marine weather and weather as well as Weather Underground (it has many localized stations that give real time reports.  For tides I use http://tbone.biol.sc.edu/tide/sitesel.html  You can customize what you want to see...tides, sunrise, sunset,....  Then you can print it out or I like to download it to my PDA.
