Is there a method to insert photos from my files in the text, rather than at the bottom of the page?

Thanks,

Doug

i have had this problem too. They told me that the resolution(pixels) was too high and the site wont accept those photos because there isn't enough room to store them. I thought that when i switched from film to digital that room would not be an issue with photos anymore. Hell you can put 500 high resolution photos on a micro-chip the size of a fingernail. Apparently i was wrong. As i understand it, you have to downsize your photos in your computer or on your camera before the site will accept them. Size does matter.

This topic really needs updating if its going to be the sticky for 'How to post pictures'.  Was going to suggest this link to a few of the new guys that have signed up and started posting and said they haven't figured out how to post pics yet.  But then saw that the video links were busted and none of the questions answered.

The video links don't work for me. They won't load. Perhaps hosting them on YouTube would be more reliable? I'm trying to figure out the advance method so that I can annotate in between pictures.

If your having an issue that your photos are too large to post, a quick way to resize them
(windows OS) is to open them in windows paint (if you have it, most computers do).

Right click on the photo, and where it says "open with" select windows paint.  When it opens
you should see your image.

Click on "Image" on the top of the page, then resize/skew from the drop down box.
Replace the 100% on the horizontal and vertical values with 50% and hit enter.
It will shrink your photo by half.

Save the new size on your desktop and upload from there.

It's a quick problem solver without having to download a program just for that.

Just thought I'd give a quick easy alternative.  Hope that helps. :smt006
