Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

We have a local sports channel that had a special on last years. Should be fun and there is always the other Reno night life. The weather should be close to 80 degrees. Have fun and don't pay to much of Reno's light bill!

We went up early and spent all day Friday at the Fest gambled a little and did pretty good so we figured we would get out ahead and visit some relatives in Colfax hit Nevada City for awhile and took our time driving back taking the back roads. I was pretty disappointed in Cabela's they had very little saltwater gear and not much in the way of sale items only spent $15 we were really ready to buy with our winnings but couldn't really find anything.
I thought the Fest was great and I could have hung out for the 3 days, the Kayak Comp. was sorta boring after an hour or so but watching the guys after the comp was much better. I will defiantly make it again next year and stay for the 3 days, well run Event I guess Sat would have been really crowded but Friday was kicked back and perfect.  The River Park is awesome a lot of Vendors Great Food at Good Prices and The Eye Candy was out in full force. Here is a few more pics.

Hey Mike, thanks for the thread and photos. i have been curious about that man made river up there. Any festival that  involves reasonably priced food and kayaking is worth doing in my book. The rapids in those photos look very reasonable. Were they all class II or was there some III ?

Some are IIIs it's pretty cool the River splits around an Island and the south side is a Beginner Course and the North Side Advanced about 1/4 mile long with 5 or 6 drops. It doesn't look that tough but that water on the advanced side is Smokin when they kicked out in a couple of seconds they were way downstream with a tough paddle back. Looks sorta Hokie with all the rocks lined up doesn't look natural but I guess Mother Nature is tough to imitate.
