I am not into most major sports and tend to have wacky sports heroes...not that there is anything wrong with Tiger.  I can't stop watching this video.  The skill involved is simply nuts...

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Taddy Blazusiak. Polish ex-trials rider. Won the Erzberg Rodeo in 2007 and 2008. Races Endurocross here in the states. I will try to remember to bring the 2008 Erzberg dvd to Albion with me if you're interested in seeing it. It's got insane carnage and mad skills footage. Thanks for posting the vid Sean.....jim

When I was a kid, Mat Hoffman.  These days Jeremy Jones is pretty high up on the list, as well as Anderson Silva.

That dude was bad ass! When I was in high school bmx dirt and freestyle was my thing. I messed my knee up riding so I kinda got out of the sport. Ive been wanting to get back in but I am about 100 pounds heavier now so I better lose a few first!

When you say it like "who is my tiger woods?"...the answer is Mellow Johnny. The guy REALLY DID nearly come back from the dead, learned an entirely knew way to do his sport (he was a renegade before), trained like a mutant fiend, and helped build teams (with mastermind Johann bruyneel) that could just SLAY everyone (yah yah doping...whatever), every contender team uses this as a model now.

but in reality:
Laurent Jalabert...the quintessential King of the Mountains...in his last TdF he just had fun, going off the front each day on HUGE long breaks

Warren Harding... the quintessential hard man...sure he was a drunk, but he put up some of the biggest boldest lines in Yosemite, didn't listen to detractors--just went out and DID IT. The routes he put up and techniques he pioneered are still in use or 100% classic today.

My heros are ordinary people that do extraordinary things. People who overcome adversity or go beyond the limits of what anyone thought was humanly possible.
The girl born w/o fingers who plays the piano; Clay Dyer who was born with no legs, no left arm and only part of a right arm who is a Pro bass fisherman; people like these are a greater inspiration to me than any pro sports player could ever be.
Watching the video Sean posted was truly amazing. He has definitely gone beyond the limits of anything I thought was humanly possible. What he has accomplished certainly qualifies him as a 'hero' in my book.
Here are a couple of other videos along the same lines as the one Sean posted although without a bike.
I LOVE this stuff.
