Got out again today for day three of my Delta Staycation.  The morning was rather cold and chilly today.  I had four fish by 11:00, and the bite seemed slow.  But I continued tossing the worm around tule clumps looking for the big bite.

Then it happened.  A gentle flip of the worm between three isolated tules and before it reached the bottom, I felt the familar tick in the line and set the hook hard.  The tules actually separated as she charged out of her house and into deeper water.  At the edge of the weedline, she jumped, mouth wide and gills flared: cannonball splash!  And then I knew this was it, the big fish I've been hunting.  My yak was positioned perfectly, and I peddled out into the deeper water.  She pulled hard, bending my rod over double, peeling line, making the drag sing...but I stayed calm, relaxed, and focused.  She wanted to get to the weeds, but I wouldn't let her do that, no way.  A few minutes later, she slid into the net: game over!  Ten pounds, five ounces--my first double digit bass!  Sweet day!

Here is the video and a few pics.

I ended up with 12 fish total, and a 24 pound, 5 fish bag.  Caught on worms and senkos.
