For those of you who have yet to meet Hobieblue, you gotta fish with this dude.  He reeks of No BS...  his boat is in the water so often it has a visible waterline, and there is not a wasted inch of space on deck.  Everything is pure function.  And...  his kayak fits in his CAR.

and he shares his spots too?......No BS is right!!  and he's a great guy to organize&teach what it takes to hook a DeltaBass(not as easy as he makes it LOOK)
Congrads to all of ya! (double to Pete :smt002) on the first(of hopefully many more) NCKA DeltaBassHookups!!  :smt003
those damned Sturgeon got me waiting for them..a complete waste of good time.

Congrats to all, looks like a great day!

Thanks HB for sharing.

Sorry I missed out, turns out it was the clutch on my Ranger that went out friday, thought it was the trans at first.

Some pics from Sat. A little late but there were technical difficulties...

Resident 'furbag' causing a commotion in the marina. They were flailing some fish around but I couldn't see what it was.

Gull movin' in for scraps.

My one & only of the day. ~17 in. Well fed...

Open wide.

That's the ticket.

OK here are my pics.  The first one was 23" and 7#.  The second I don't know because I lost my Hawg Trough but I think it was about 2#.   Great day out there.

Hey Pete, what did you catch that big one on, was it the spinner bait?

Pumpkin senko.   Thanks to Hobie for showing me his killer Texas rig.

And by the way, after he generously showed us where to go, and how to fish for them, I do hope people respect his wish and do C&R if they ever go back there.  (Not that I would serve Delta bass to my worst enemy.)  But seeing all those sea lions and bait fishermen, it reminds you how fragile some of these spots are.  The guy fishing off the dock when I got back, claimed he caught and ate (yikes) a 12 pounder a few years back.

Along those lines, this year I have noticed alot more "bucket fisherman" out there in aluminum boats.  You know the type, bait under bobbers, anything caught goes in the bucket.  In a perfect world they would hunt sealions and pigeons.

The banks were packed on the drive home....And from the looks of many they were there for dinner not sport.
