Great Ways to Get Yourself Banned

Today I banned someone from our site for making a racial slur. I have no problem doing this since that seems like a pretty basic thing you don't do. However it is not really spelled so here way go.

1. No personal attacks. We can all disagree but keep it on point and not personal.

2. No racial slurs.

3. Anything else the moderators deem over the line, but if it is not 1 or 2 you will probably at least get a warning.

Thanks Bill, it seems it was necessary from your description. I hope we can self regulate sufficiently to prevent further occurrences. Kind of on that note, I am bummed that we got as partisan/political as we did during the election season - there are a few folks we no longer hear from and I think it is a loss.

I like that we can all voice our opinion, even if its a little off base   

More importantly, I enjoy that we are a diverse group held together by a love of water and fish.

Glad to hear this.  This board seems to be very good at self-regulating it's content and keeping the offensive material off but a few rules can only help preserve that quality.  It's too bad anyone has to spend their valuable time regulating this but those who show that they have neither the class or intelligence to self-regulate need to be removed.  Thanks!

I've seen those rules on other boards but never enforced. One board said no dirty language and no dirty pictures, but you couldn't read any threads without encountering one or the other.

Yeah....I'm gonna need some clarification on that one too. I think I may have broken all 3 rules in every report I've ever posted.
