OK here is the first batch.

Eric~

Was the wide one , silver side showing with the eye the hardest one to drill?
I have two similar to that. I got one done after a lot of trouble and I gave up trying to drill the other one.
The other 29 are all drilled out.

I am looking at those jig's and I remembered somthing from highschool metal shop.   If you use  a piece of wooden dowel for a drill bit, and a piece of emery cloth you can "spin into the stainless.

Use a short piece of wooden dowel cut smooth, chuck it up in the drill and then add a dar of oil to the emery cloth ( I used to do this in a drill press so it was easier to add pressure,).  Press the dowel into the oil soaked portion of the emerey cloth.  Now you have something that will give you swirls into your metal.

Practice on something to see how it works out.  I am going to give those Jigs a shot.

Change diameters of dowel to get smaller or larger swirl sizes

Our kitchen scale battery died so I need to get a new one. I'll post the weight when I get it. I have a few that are really hard to drill. These were the easy ones. You can really hear the difference when drilling. These have a low pitch to them. The 5 that I couldn't drill have a really high pitch. I have yet to figure out how to tell the diff in the store. I am gonna look for some 'heavy ones' this afternoon.

Fish aren't very picky about finish, lingcod hit plain lead colored jigs just fine and the stainless should be adequately shiny.  One can use a bit of fingernail polish to add color and sparkle.  A sexy wiggle is paramount - they may need to be bent a bit in the field to accomplish that.  Should check that they flutter or swoop down rather than sink like a bank sinker.

I have caught plenty of rockfish and lings using only a lead torpedo weight and an assist hook. The 'pretty' is for the fisherman, not the fish.
I will admit that color can make a difference. Somedays green seems to be the go-to color while other days chrome rules.

Copper pipe jigs also work well. I don't think I need to mention that they're an easy home-built.

That's about as un-sexy yet effective as you can get....Hell, as long as it catches them. I just weighed them and they are about 2-3oz each. A bit lighter then I'd hoped. Nothing a 2 oz egg sinker can't solve. I may even dip a few in glow in the dark paint.
