Well, I didn't get to yakfish, even though Rocket was kind enough to offer up his boat.  Just couldn't squeeze it in for family, or some other reason.  I did eat luaus, swim with the fisheez, and some other cool vacation stuff.  Weather was kinda snotty all week.  water temps were in the low 70's (71 at Hanuama Bay) with winds forecast at 5 -10 from the North.  But felt much more like 15-20, def saw some whitecaps out there each afternoon.

Also surfed for a couple hours at waikiki.  Waves were real dinky, so i kept my polarized oakleys on, like a total kook :smt044

here are some pics.  The one with the guy paddleboarding with a rod jammed in his crack gives new meaning to the phrase "trolling from the rear" :smt044

Here's a sequence for Mooch.  It was cool to see a smokin' wahine on a SUP mixing it up with the guys.  She ate it on this particular sequence, but she caught a couple others that was pretty cool to see.

yeah, H.bay at 10AM on thursday.  Taken from the cliff by the snack shack.  Things sure have changed since 1997, when I last swam there.  They now require you watch an orientation video prior to entring the park, if you haven't been there w/in the past year.  They also don't sell fish food.  Back in the day, they sold fish food pellets and we'd bring wonderbread and chum up the place like crazy.

another observation about temps.  we snorkeled for about 80 minutes at H. Bay.  I got out of there feeling soooooo cold!  It'd been a while since I felt cold like that and I was wearing a rash guard and 3 mm pants.  in open water swimming, I've been cold before, trust me.  but feeling that cold in Hawaii was really unexpected.  my secretary had just gone to Oahu the week before me and we were both agreed about the weather and water conditions this morning.

you bet i did.  Hit it up on the way to North Shore.  Just one of those shrimp combo plates was more than enough for a good snack for two, jumbo lunch for one.  Really tasty stuff.
