I was walking around the shopping center near my work a few weeks back when I noticed some guys building out a new store with lots of rods!  Sure enough its a new Hi's Tackle Box store in South San Francisco (El Camino and Westborough are).  It was just opening and haven't been in yet. I'm sure all my lunch money will go to this store.

Are your prices the same at the store and online??

Oh, NOW I get it!
You're right, it is a fun shop, though. At least the old one was - haven't been to the new one yet (it's not near my work...).

First post with a detailed address to a business...keep it believable. Better yet just be honest and show us what the new store has to offer instead of this ridiculous charade.

Funny quote on another board about their moving sale.
Quote
Everything that was marked up 500% is now marked up 499% and if your not buying big ticket tuna gear get ready to wait a while for service

Hi's was a great Neighborhood shop, I used to hang there a lot you would see a lot of great fisherman in there willing to talk and you could learn a lot. Since Jonah took over it has got sorta stuffy, but I guess you do what you have do to to survive. It's still a candy store with a great selection of gear just watch their prices some are fair some not so much. Do they sell bait at the new location? Weird that there is so little info about the move on their site.

I went buy there before it opened, back in late September.  I only made it to the old store once, and they were getting ready to move everything over.  I like that is closer to me than having to go SF.

jonah's got a new store!  find highway 280, just south of san francisco.  take the westborough exit and head eastbound.  when you hit el calmino, continue straight.  the street changes names from westborough to chestnut.  you can turn into the safeway parking lot and walk back out to the street, or go past the new shop, turn right and park in the alley behind.  i drove past it twice before i figured things out.

the new address is 40 chestnut street, south san francisco, ca 94080 and the phone # for the shop is 650-588-1200.  when i was lost, i called the old # and it just rang, so put the new number in your phone before driving over.  the hours are now mon-wed 9am to 7pm, thursday 9am to 8pm, friday back to 9am to 7pm, saturday 8 am to 5pm and gone fishing sunday.  the new store is 4100 square feet and now has 25% more inventory.

it's pretty much the same crew, with a couple of new faces. meet michelle...

tigerfish skipper allen chin, actually lives close to the shop and the boat is now sponsored by hi's.

many of you will remember benny from reed's sporting goods in san jose.

here's aram.

heiko!

my buddy, jim, has been helping them set up but i don't think he'll be working at the store regularly.

and the boss, himself, jonah!

i'm going to take you on a quick lap around the store.

lots of blackwater and toray!

every calstar made.

lots of trevalas

this is a little embarasing.  i don't know how i did it, but i managed to not get a picture of hippo.  at least i got hippo's rigging station.

underarmor....

grundens!

jonah stocks the teaser....

quite a shop!

Looks like a lot of the great stuff that was in the old shop with more room (less crammed) and easier parking.  I'll have to check it out.
