I have heard of several "smash and grab" incidents in and around the specialty shops (especially REI) IN BROAD DAY LIGHT :smt011

Just yesterday, I saw local Police sweeping up broken glass from a volvo station wagon......apparently the thieves got away with several REI shopping bags full of goodies....

*KEEP YOUR SHOPPING BAGS INSIDE YOUR TRUNK!!!! (or cover 'em up if you don't have a trunk)

Yeah, Dave, but outdoors A-holes are some of the worst kind.  More likely to trash our resources, be game-hogs, and leave litter and bad karma in their wake.  Even though I know it would be stupid I'd have a hard time restraining myself from making a citizen's tackle-arrest if I saw some scumbag with an iron rod in a parking lot - especially this time of year.

That blows.   :smt011

just remember the following mantra, " he approached me menacingly while screaming derogatory racial/sexual orientation/gender/religious epitaphs (pick the one that fits best).  He said he was going to kill me."  That should free you up to 'defend' yourself pretty well. :smt065
