With all of this rain, steelies are right around the corner.  I loved my Mini-X for river work, but after getting this sweet little T-11 set up, I don't think I am gonna miss my Mini for long.

The rear rudder mount has 6 threaded lugs in two planes...perfect for mounting an anchor setup.

I went to TSC and got a two short pieces of steel.  One 1.5 x 0.120 and one 1.0 X 0.120.  I also bought a cheap single pulley. Total in materials was about $10.00.

I used the 1.5 inch for the main beam and the rear mount, the 1.0 inch for the front mount and the line guide.  I cut the hanging tab off of the pulley to make it have two flat ears so I could weld it on to the mount.  I angled the mount up a bit to keep most of the anchor out of the water.

The final product: from the side...

from the rear...

the whole layout...

Then I made another one just like it for Tote. More to follow...

What kinda cleat did you use?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

1st prize is the legendary BAM buckle and a New Trident 11 kayak pimped for steelhead fishing with a seat, GWKC anchor setup and a deluxe PrecisionPak insulated Fish bag.

Just Tote...that was the difference between 1st and second.  Tote, I need you to PM me your address.  Your fish bag is here too.

Nice work Sean. :smt007  Jealous of the fabrication skills.

Question though, what will keep the rope from fraying as it travels through the guide?  I ask because in the first pic, it looks like some strands have already started to shred.

A simple cheapo jam cleat.

As you know college isn't free!  Had to do something to pay tuition.  Its actually sad to see how sucky my welding has become...I need to get back into practice!

The hole is radiused, but other than that nothing.  I have used the same basic setup on my X-Factor and my Mini-X and they worked great.

I paddled this little rascal for the first time at Blue Lakes yesterday and was totally impressed.  GREAT footwell, good primary stability, quiet, tracked well for a short boat, and was surprisingly dry...

I added a Yak Pak 3 (more on this later) to the tankwell in addition to a Plano.  This combo holds a MOUNTAIN of well-organized tackle, lunch, rain gear etc.  I am stoked with the capacity of this tankwell...

I think so, but I won't know until I stick it in a river all loaded up.  If it does drag, It will only be the very bottom.  This little boat has a lot of volume in the bootay.

Nice work as usual Sean, are you planing on mounting front rod holders on your T-11 or T15 ? I test paddled both Tridents the 11 and 13 last Sunday at Aquan boat house I have to say loved both of them :smt007. I definitely think Ocean Kayak has two winners there I may have to cross over :smt003.

As it turns out...yes.

I put a Scotty on the Rod Pod for fishing plugs...it is too flexible and I will need to reinforce it.

I put in two flush mounts by my Sonar Shield of my T-15 and they are OK...I think Eriks version is better.
