I emailed them this morning, so I'm going to give em a couple days before I try tubes or other options that might void any warrantee.

My proof of purchase is the defective wheels that they can have back.

Hi Yakers:

I don't mind if Bill takes money from "Wheeleez" because I
don't thing we need to impact anymore NCKA crew on this Bug.
I'll try to find another source of supply for the floation tires.

I have not had the wheelez banner in rotation in a long time, at least a few months. If they have a google ad running it might pop up in there.

I would be shocked if they didn't make it right.

I guess I too have been getting caught up in the frustration of this thing.

My first feeling after talking with Peter (Pres), was this was a no brainier and it would be taken care of.

now, with the info from Jdyak and Usaig, it looks as though their fix is $40, plus your expense's.

Not so much as an apology or poke in the eye with a dirty stick.

I want to call them, but feel I would not be able to be " Civil ", I know that I have sent our concerns,

and unless the Pres is not looking at his e-mails, they are telling us to pound salt........ :smt010

Hi D

The word is out in Socal and, I sure it will spread. If it helps, I will not purchase any new Wheeleez Carts. I tried posting reviews on some of our banner sites but, they were delete.
                                                                        Good Luck

 When it was first said,

" We would need to Pay extra for the premium wheels ", that seemed to make sense...

" The Sticking point " for me is, It looks as though they knew these wheels were bad,

And tried/did, dump them on us to cover their loses

 No Disclaimer, No Nothing,

Now, After their Faulty product has come to light, They want us to pay up, It does not make sense

 and has pissed me off.

I really want to have Good wheels,

But it's going to take Wheeleez to Man Up and make this right...

I will not pay $40 Bucks for their misleading BS, I'll throw them in the garbage first!!!!!!

It looks as though the Word is spreading,  Better act fast Wheeleez.........

I am contacting paddling.net. I wonder how much will be spent in advertisement to overcome the bad publicity vs doing the right thing! They need to realize that isn't not just the kayak fishing market they will be hurt in.

Updated 8/13 11:00 PM

I like the companies response. They're standing up to do the right thing. I can't wait to post a good review.

OK.... :smt001

Lets All Take a deep Breath,

I kinda Feel Bad about this now, Peter said they would take care of it and it looks as though they will.

After I sent some Heated e-mails, I just got this one. It appears that they were working things out while

we were Bashing them. I know we can all second guess what actually happen in the group buy, but it

appears at this time, they have addressed that they did not mean to sell us " Bad " Wheels and are

Looking to Replace all PVC Wheels, I'm going to post this on the other thread as to get the count of

How many need Replacement.  Lets try to put a Good face on this now,

It looks as though they are Doing the Right Thing.... :smt004

Here is the Respone E-mail from the President of the Company......

Dear Don Anglin,

Permit me to be little puzzled first:

1/ Your email below dates “August 14, 2008 4:18PM”, however I received that mail on August 13, 2008  at about 10am.

2/ I received your other email dated “Wed 8/13/2008 6:53 PM” yesterday, August 12, 2008 about noon.

Are you, perhaps, currently travelling in different time zone?

3/ In my verbal communication with you and in my email response dated” Thu 8/7/2008 2:02 PM” to your kind, and much appreciated “proactive” internet action, I clearly stated that our staff was in Salt Lake City on a Trade Show and that we would respond upon their return the following week.  Your “blogging” members don’t seem to have been aware of this, judging from their “onslaught” of negativism about our wheels, and/or actions over the recent days. I my opinion, not exactly fair.

Now, on to the issues at hand.

I am with you Don about “being a man of principle”. I don’t make “snap” decisions on issues. I research and evaluate before we proceed or respond. I told you so much in my email cited under 3 above.

Your mail and call on 8/7/08 alerted me the FIRST time to this NCKA members issue. If any of your members feels that my interim response the same day, with a projected schedule for a more firm follow up next week is inadequate, there is little I can do about that and the blogging. This especially in view of your “counter blog” initiative. I truly thought your members had more understanding than “blasting” Wheeleez, Inc. and its products, again and again.

I regret very much that you feel you were shorted and made the fall guy. Neither you, nor I knew about some of your NCKA members taking their complaint to Wheeleez, Inc. directly.

Contrary to some of your members opinion, the PVC tired wheels are not “bad” wheels. They are just not as suitable to the kind of operational activities and demands your members seem to require. We didn’t know that when we made that special offer to NCKA last year when Otto Werlin visited with you at your meeting.

We had and have no intentions to “screw” or “gouge” anyone. Prices are changing, and unfortunately going up, continuously. Wheeleez, Inc. is not shielded from that fact.

We had, for your Club, nothing but good and positive intentions last year. And we do not renege on that, contrary to some of your members believes.

I met with my sales and operational staff this morning (8/13/2008 11am).Due to other  commitments I can respond to your latest emails  only now. (8:10pm on 8/13/2008)

Wheeleez, Inc.’s offer to remedy this issue   (and there is no change from my previous commitment to you on 8/7/2008)

To help us do so, I hope you can:

a/ provide us with the number of affected PVC wheels from your members.

b/ the date and location of your group’s next meeting.

Otto Werlin, our Sales Manager, whom you met at last year’s meeting, will bring the required number of PU tired wheels to exchange for the PVC tired wheels, FREE OF CHARGE.

I find a concerted effort is usually more productive to all concerned.

Thank you, Sincerely,

Peter J.U. Reich, President, Wheeleez, Inc.

That sounds like a pretty fair deal to me.  I have to go to Sacramento tomorrow.  I will take my old wheels, the email, and my receipt up to Wheeleez.  I will post how it goes.

I would think that would be fine, But

You may want to call them first, as to be sure someone is there who knows what is going on.

I stopped by Wheeleez this am.  Talked to Vern and Otto.  They gave me new wheels, same size, of my choice.  There was no charge and the entire transaction was professional and pleasant.

I encourage everyone to work with them.

Good luck,

Doug

Hello All,

Being Wheeleez is taking care of this problem, I think it would be only fair that anyone who posted

on other sites, also post that Wheeleez has recognized the problem and is taking care of it.

Don't mean to be a " Homer ", I just think it's the right thing to do.
