I just found out my landlord will not allow me to keep my kayak stored outside.  Are there any places in Santa Cruz where I can store it and if so how much do you think it will cost?

You can rent a storage spot from the Santa Cruz harbor. I don't know how much it costs.

I think there is a storage area down at the yacht harbor, on the side opposite of the main PB launch.  No idea how much though

Totally. WTF? A single kayak takes up hardly any space......
My old landlord on the outer westside was always cool, even when I had 3 boats (of course he had 7-8....)

Maybe you could store it inside? I once stored a 14' sit-in vertically in an apartment that had no exterior storage. I attached a pully to a ceiling beam & hoisted the bow with a rope until the boat was straight up resting on the stern (it was a high ceiling over a stairwell). It was winter so I collected xmas cards in the deck bungees & put colored lights on it :smt003

I can relate...we live in a very nice mobile home park, and one of the ways they keep it looking so nice is by putting a lot of strict rules in place regarding the exterior appearance of each home.  Things like no new trees, bushes or home additions without park permission, trash cans, bikes and kid's toys must be hidden from street view, et cetera.  Which naturally means that there's no way my Hobie can be stored outside, even in the backyard where it's hidden from view.  I had to get creative in order to keep the yak at my place; I cut a new door into the lower skirting, which gave me a larger access door under the house, and I keep the kayak under there on the concrete pad, cable-locked to the steel frame of the undercarriage.  Of course, after the fact I learned that we're not supposed to store anything under our houses either, so <sssshhhhh...>

Good luck with your search.  I'd take advantage of Allen's kind offer...maybe you can store your boat under his skateboard ramp.  I don't think he's using it much there days.  :smt002

My orthopedic surgeon says I have to wait till October, that's when I can fall on my arm and not break it again.....Good one Patrick.

The offer is real, though....
