My home town made the NY Times today.  I guess we're gonna use 'shrooms to clean up the dioxin spills at the mill site......Cool.  Don't think they're gonna use Liberty Caps though.

Wow, that sounds very interesting.  Hope it works but will it be done in time for them to keep the grant, I mean 5 years of testing and possibly 10 years of it actually happening.  Will be neat to follow.

Cool story, Dave.  Thanks for sharing that.  However the cleanup goes, I hope the mill site is developed properly so the community benefits and the area is showcased like Mendocino Headlands is in relation to Mendocino.

I have a buddy who's had access across the mill land for the last decade and he's pulled a few 10's out of there somewhere.

Stamets actually found that Psilocybin mushrooms were very effective at bioremediation.

I have a buddy who's had access across the mill land for the last decade and he's pulled a few 10's out of there somewhere.

I used to dive out there too, but then i started hearing the waste "disposal" stories that happened there.  Then I realized I was feeding these things to my friends and family.  I stopped diving there.  The city waste treatment plant is also out there, which discharges raw sewage during storms and such.

It's great habitat with lots of abs, and they may be safe, but it's hard to keep your imagination in check.
