Thanks, PAL, for the hooping effort. If all the "shorts" were just a tiny bit short last year then maybe they will be just a tiny bit over this year. All the same Walker and I will purchase report cards and be ready to go.

Did someone take the last spot, is the trip full?

Last year Sean had room sign up ahead of time which was nice because then we also got to see a list of who all was on the trip. Is that happening or did I miss it?

Anyone see any forecast of weather for the outer waters heading into the weekend?

We finished packing tackle last night and have it down to half or less of what we brought last year!

The trip is FULL.  I skipped the sign ups this year...we can just do it at the dock.

Pat and Randy, so glad to see you're on the boat again this year. Skipper Shane said you should grab stateroom B or C - your choice - they are the best for couples.

Thanks Paul...

Though we haven't had much chance to fish this season, we've been looking forward to this trip since we stepped off the Islander last year!

And thanks for the heads up on the staterooms.  We were in 'C' for the very first Islander trip so we'll try for it again this year.

Arrived San Diego yesterday and can't wait to see you and everybody else who's coming on the trip.  It's gonna be awesome!

Islanders, please leave stateroom C for Pat and Randy. As Sean noted, we'll figure the rest of the staterooms out when we load the boat.

See you tomorrow! Reminder - please plan to be at the landing no later than 6 pm. For those who might need directions, they can be found here: http://www.fishermanslanding.com/pages/directions.php

Oh my - Sean and I probably should have reminded everyone sooner. According to Sean, departure for this year's trip has always been 8pm. That's ready to go, loaded up, on the boat and set to cast off lines. To do that, people should be at the landing no later than 7 pm, and that's cutting it close.

I realize we did not leave until much later last year. The situation is different this time. The boat will be rigged and ready to load at 6 pm. Because the trip is full it will take quite a while to get everything aboard. The more who load early the better.

Please do whatever you can to be on the road early. Remember, you'll have to squeeze your way through LA rush hour traffic to make it down here. You don't want to be the late group that everyone's waiting for.

The Cortez Bank is a 100 mile steam away. That's no less than 10 hours of travel time. Every minute we stay tied to the dock after 8 pm is one less minute you'll have to fish.

I don't want to jinx anything - just know conditions are smiling on our plans at the moment, but of course, conditions are subject to change. Keep your fingers crossed, bring plenty of yo-yo iron, and also be prepared to slow troll live bait.

The tackle shop at Fisherman's Landing is pricey! But they'll also probably stay open until we leave. If it looks otherwise, call me and I'll take your order. Last resort only please!

Travel safe! My cell phone number is 858-254-3600 (oh brother) - please call if you run into any issues on the road.

Today, Randy and I dropped some change at the tackle shop there at Fisherman's Landing.   They said that they will be open until 7:30 Thursday.

Thanks for that info Pat, we have need of a couple last minute items and now won't stress on the closing time.

Who ever hands out berth arrangements at the dock please keep me and Walker together in a room, we packed assuming we would be together and I don't want to hassle with repacking bags and gear on the chance we might be split. Thanks!

Don't sweat it! We'll make sure there's a room for you both.
