Hit mill creek again with my dad, Eric and his brother Brian.  Last time I was here was about 15 months back and I didn't do that well since my FF was conked out.  This time we paddled way out past 100' and got into some good fish.  I caught about 30 fish and kept 7 monster reds and a couple olives.  Eric did well on the reds too, but the other two guys got queasy and limited out on blues and olives instead.  It was kind of lumpy, fairly foggy, but no wind to speak of.  Great day on the water.

The fog made the place surreal, but it also made it tricky to find our way home.  My GPS is awol since I moved.  Hope to find it again soon.

I had tinsel hoochies w/ siwash hooks for the 'teasers'.  It only caught one red, but that made it a double on 5lb reds!  I had many doubles on blues and olives, and it even was kind of annoying as it made it harder to get through the school of 'small' fish to the bottom.  Usually the bottom hook gets hit before the teaser since it's closer to the bottomfish.

Forgot to mention, I think I hooked into a WSB for about 5 min using a whole squid on a bare jig.  Monster fish that picked it up on the drop and ran straight to the bottom and rocked me, then came free, made a short run and rocked me again, this time he threw the hook.   :smt013  That fight sounded just like Brendan's description.  I need to research WSB fishing for next time down there, and use 35lb spectra instead of 20.

Was it you who burried the dog at the beach?

If by that you mean "have no idea what you're talking about", then yes.

Someone(maybe you) burried a bloated dog by the rocks where you walk to launch at Mill Creek.  I arrived at Mill Creek at around 3:00 pm Satuday, and saw that thing.

I was wondering if you were using some variant/combo of 'hide the weasel' or 'hair of the dog that bit ya' that I wasn't aware of.  The only dead mammals observed on our trip were organic speed bumps.  Saw a live bobcat eating roadkill though.  Sweet.   :smt003
