This will be my first trip out to meet with nor cal kayak anglers I will be glad to meet you guys. and my first trip to loc lomond. I am pumped and ready to fish and want some of your input on the lake. on what the fishing conditions are and recommend some set ups for that lake. I normally like to fish with a wedding ring set up wit a night crawler but I am open to suggestions. however if some one tells me the best set up is something like a trolling with a piece of prune on the end is well.......

You'll be fine trolling a wedding ring.  I've caught fish on Rapalas, Sep's Sidekick Dodgers w/ worm, full dodger w/ worm, flashers w/ worm, as well as just drifting nightcrawlers.  When leaving the ramp, I usually fish to the left (going towards the damn) on the far bank.  Lots of people have luck going the opposite direction towards the inlet.  I'm sure either way, you'll do fine.

Lots of people catch fish trolling spoons too, for me they are a last ditch resort and have never had to get to that point.

Good luck.

Michael
