Got another report tonight.  Today he Fished in 55 feet, just south to about straight off the pier.  Lots of shakers, but their limits went 8-15 lbs.  He lost one would be keeper to a shark.  Saw it coming and grab the fish.  Said it was a big one about 6ft long.  I asked GW, but he thought it was a blue.  The other boat got limits too, but they topped out at 10lbs.  Started out with FBR's, but switched to hoochies which worked really well.

Said the Party boats were thick, and in much closer in 40 feet.  When he fished on the inside they got nothing but shakers or barely legal fish.  Smallest one was about 12".  Better fish were in 55ft.  Also said if it made 20", the party boats kept them.

For the weekend, it sounds like its better paddling out and up from Linda Mar.

Kinda close to shore for a blue. Kinda small for a white.

Some large soupfin sharks are caught off pacifica every year.  Odds are good for a young GW though.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

Lots of salmon sharks around too, people frequently think they are baby GW.
