1/11 Clear Lake

KickinBass inspired another trip to Richmond Park in Konocti bay.
But superdad stayed home today ,with his sick spawnling, good man. Mahi Mahi and I went anyway. Conditions were calm and flat for most of the day. Water temps were in the low 40s.
Vis was about 4'. We focused on cruising rocky points and my usual haunts.
I threw a swimbait, jigs, spinnerbait, senkos, and the ripbait.  Had a grab on the swimbait that I wasnt patient enough with, but otherwise nothing.

It was a really good thing we brought along our team of jumbo super agents.
Caught around 20 fish between the 2 of us. Mahi found the zone a few times and nabbed the fish of the day. The colors are lost in the photo but it had a deep golden color and sharp dark greens, if this fish gets to 10#s it will be an incredible site.
Halfway through the day we stopped at the park for clam chowder/breadbowl and fat tire.
Mahi got to hear some of the clearlake monster lore from locals who have seen it. Different folks with very similiar accounts, very exciting.
Here are some pictures, the first being of Mahi's mentioned fish. The second is of my fishing line and Mahi in the background.    Ive got to get better.

Thanks Andy, you were missed

It was a great day to meet Terry's "other family" at Richmond Park. What a cool place to have a beer and warm lunch. Here are a couple of photo's I was able to nab.

Terry, your unworthy catch is still more than I have to show so far. Nice going.

Nice job boys... looks like the bite is picking up a little bit. I guess the "little guys" pulled through for you both. Nice chunky fish too.

Gald to see someone catching fish. Hearing about Richmund Park brings back memories... I love that place.
Where's the crappie?
The weather is warming up for a couple of days starting sunday...
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.
