i am interested in fishing the russian with you, what techniques and tackle should i be prepared with?

I will try a little of everything. Yaking to good spots and casting off of the shore, back trolling plugs, and boonedoggling bait. When it comes to steelhead I'm not a purist, whatever works baby!

I have a really messy January schedule, so I'm going to tentatively mark the weekend of Feb 5-6 as a Russian River weekend. Sean, I'm counting on you to get some scouting in before then and fill us all in on the secrets.
