For us first timers to the lake, (me) how is the camping set up? Are there "group" sites that will be nabbed by NCKA or individual that'll require reservations? Looking at the shots in BAM I looks like we can camp along the lake?
I'm planning to be there this year!

Thanks Adam.  I do have 4X4, (Dodge diesel with 12,000 lb hydraulic winch on front) but if, as you mention it's muddy, I won't go too far out as the front end of my truck weighs as much as Mooches whole truck.  I have wheels for my yak also.
It'll be nice to camp out of my truck for a chance after the boat-in camp at Del Valle.  All the stuff I can now that I couldn't last trip?  Here comes "The Jed Clampett mobile" baby!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't BAM I or BAM II the birth place of the famous "Man dawg"

Suweeeeet!! That winch might come in handy if its really muddy. But not for pulling other autos out of holes....it'll be perfect for helping us avoid the mud after fishing all day! Just paddle up to the shoreline, atttach the winch-hook to the kayak bow and start the winch. And voila! No more muddy feet! LOL!

Looking forward to the epic outing that is BAM. Never been to Lake Mendo either. But I'll be sure to do lots of research. And bring waay too much gear.
Thanks for putting this together Sean. And thanks for the updates! It seems really far away...its only February!

We'll try and make it, but no camping for us. Wifie doesn't like the outdoors, but loves to fish. So we'll have to find creature comforts nearby and hang with you all!!!!

Just realize it won't be ME hauling the winch line out to the kayaks and getting my feet muddy! (Being the winch operator has it perks!) Someone else will get that job!
