Yo! Brian G,

I'm not calling you out, but did you ever make it to the beach last year? I think I remember you being sick last year (either bottle flu of the real flu) and wondering around the camp.

The countdown continues! See everyone there!

CHEERS!

If by flat you mean 8 ft swells and 20 kt winds like previous years.. then yeah.. it's going ot be pretty flat.

I'll take responsibility for the poor conditions if they occur. I'll be there at Elk but I haven't gotten out on the ocean one single day so far this year because every time I've made plans and gotten a rare day off, the conditions have been crap.  :smt013 It's starting to get ridiculous...

I agree. It going to be what its going to be. Best we can do is be prepared to charge it and fish.

Reminds me of a quote from John Carpenter's "the Fog":

Elizabeth: (referring to the ocean conditions)
"Is it always like this?"

Nick: "It's always different."

Remember that this report is for up to 20 miles out.  Difficult to predict the inshore conditions based on those forecasts... no need to sweat it.

The most promising thing to me is the relatively small swell.

I remember the 9 foot swells a couple years ago and that was a little dicey to say the least.

that small swell is good, that is for sure.  i remember trying to follow chef into the big swells one derby day, we got past that big wash rock, and he was insisting that there was a reef farther out.  up and over the waves we went, finally my stomach was in my throat, i was starting to gurgle.  i had to turn back to calmer water. :smt012

No need to worry, fellas. The fact that I can't fish the tourny should guarantee you guys get a nice, calm, flat day out there.

You're welcome.  :smt011
