Tomales Bay Skunk 11/29/07

Conditions were gorgeous, on the water by 8.  Launched at Nicks Cove- cool little spot.  Had the whole bay to ourselves (Including the absence of fish).  Anyways, nice to get out.  I wonder if its the time of year or what, but only marked a few fish on the finder and had not even a nibble on Midshipmen, 'chovies, pile worms, or swim baits.

I was wondering how Tomales would be. I gave it some thought when Montezuma was blown out.
Sorry you didn't have any luck but it looked like a great day to get out.

WOW! You don't get too many days out there that look like that!

It's mostly just the time of year. Even the sharks and rays are hard to come by in Tomales and Bodega Bays during the winter. November through March are pretty slow months for just about everything but rockfish (closed from vessel) and perch.

I've never fished for perch from my yak - but I imagine it would be a blast with some ultra-lite gear.

Great report, Cap'n Konkel!  Awesome water there - makes it a pleasure to paddle around.
