Normally I would not want to post anything non-yak, but this is awesome.  Two days after catching my biggest fish ever (mendo striper), I catch this monster rainbow.  I was casting a 5" senko along the edges of weeds when I felt the normal tap-tap of a bite.  When I set the hook, I realized that I had a big fish.  When it didn't jump I thought it was a cat.  I was super surprised to see this trout on my hook.

Notice the senko in its mouth in the first pic.  It was about 22".

Strong work!  this "mystery" has been discussed around the many fires of team bridgeport.
"should we be fishing the senko in high seirra streams?"
ill fish it with more confidence next summer.
great report!

Ben:

Nice fish dude.  I used to fish Contra Loma as a kid.  That is a big ass trout for that little mud whole.

Nice Fish, is that lake rental boats only? Do they have any Yaks? Any pictures of the lake?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I believe that they have rental electric boats.  Boats w/ electric motors only can launch.  Kayaks with wet suit.  That makes no sense to me.  It is a drinking water reservoir, so there can be no bodily contact.  What about dead fish, racoon turds, and all of the lead sinkers that are snagged somewhere on the bottom.  If someone can give me a good explanation on why it would hurt to have human contact with the water, I would appreciate it.

Anyway, here is the link for the lake.  I live within walking distance, so I can sneak over there and fish from the bank when the weather is nice and I don't have time to yak.
