Z....sometimes when the fishing is slow in the kayak world...people tend to go to extremes to keep themselves sane 

These poor souls are weak in the force

There have been a few times I wouldn't have minded switching to auto pilot!

The deal with people putting engines in yaks is because it's incredibly fast and fun.

Never done it and never will.

However.

"The Worlds' Fastest Indian"

Is a good movie for the whole family.

  I hope "they" dont refer to that thing as a kayak. But if so im really not surprised.   I remember when the mirage system boats hit the shops and we were comparing them to a pedal boat for a kids summer camp or a park and refused to recognize it as a real kayak.  Ive since grown tolerant of these boats and in 40 or 50 years, when Im old and broken, I may cross over to the dark side but for now Ill be KAYAKING.   

I remember pedal boats from Denis (sp) The Menace Park near Monterey.

That is probably what got me started with pedal Hobies.   Sorry.

I remember my Dad catching eels.   They tasted very good after being marinaded in lemon juice.

That was a long time ago.
