Out of the Shadows ...

Hello All,
Long time lurker and occasional poster.    Introduced to the site back in spring of 2006 by an NCKA member spreading the love at one of Mel Cotton’s Expos.

The knowledge shared on the forum is tremendous and the camaraderie is unparalleled.  My fishing IQ has increased ten fold and I feel like I’ve gained the brothers & sisters I never had.

Born and raised in Modesto CA but now reside in San Jose.  Grew up fishing the local rivers and lakes in and around Mo-town.  As a result, I developed a love for trout.  My preferred method of angling is stalking trout on a stream but I was also known to chase them down in my old Valco.  Upon moving to the south bay, I quickly realized that stream fishing was virtually nonexistent and found out that many of the local lakes had restrictions to gas motors.  Thus I would need another medium to reach fish.  Enter the kayak.

Really looking forward to attending BAM III and excited about meeting many new faces. I’ve attended a few functions in the past including Kayak Connection’s Father Day Tourney in ’06 & ’07 as well as Paddlefest in ’06 and the Fred Hall Fishing & Boat Show back in January, but I have a feeling that those won’t hold a candle to Mendo.

I’m in the minority that paddle/peddle a Hobie but so far I’ve had nothing but praise for my orange Adventure.  Although I’ve had it out a half dozen times since the purchase, I’m looking forward to its post-pimp maiden voyage.
