A) Hit the high sierras or the foothill lakes for trout

B) Hit the Bay for Sharks and bat rays

C) pimp da kayak

D) take up free diving - it's a year round fishery

There's always other options my fellow asian bradah  :kungfu

C) pimp da kayak

That's my plan. Plano box & tackle redux, wetsuit repair, and whatever else I can think of. I've gotten my share of fishing days this season, I'm kind looking forward to some downtime to get some work done.

Trout, Macinaw, Stripers, Sturgeon, Dabs and Crabs. This is the time of year that we have superior fishing options compared to our socal bros. It's all good as long as you don't mind the cold weather. It's really only December and the beginning of January where there isn't alot of fishing options.

Trip to Mexico or Costa Rica. :smt003

Making lures, tying flies, building rods, pimping the yak, cleaning te reels.

Practicing your casting techniques and accuracy.

Learning new knots like the bimini albright

Building up the WAF. Mine is currently in the negative and I have't even set foot on the Islander.

Finding new recipes to cook all that rockfish in the freezer. This also builds WAF.

Posting non-yak stuff like Joels volleyball adventure.

All that said I have been a little down the last few days since I packed up my rockfish tackle. I feel your pain bro.  :smt006

Just watch.  Everyone's saying there are all these options.  But its a depressing historical fact that reporting volume will be in the crapper from here until the spring spawn in 2008.

Still, I'm gonna do my best to get out and hit the water in this "off season".  I hope we're not reduced to posting paddle for exercise postings, although I plan on doing some of that out of Cowell's to NBSB weather permitting.  I guess there's also the world series striper bite near SQ to look forward to ...

And yes, Z, I'm gonna hit Lexington.  But unless its springtime for bass, that lake is kind of so so, IME.

OH NO - SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER KICKING IN!!  It's too early in the year to get S.A.D.  Must be all this unseasonably cool weather and drizzle...

Spill the intel bro! Lex is like 10 minutes from my house and given that I will have a super short WAF leash when baby #2 arrives I need short and quick trips!
