Introduction of the "AVP" Association of Volleyball Professionals

...and the guys warming up before the first match of the day. The guy in grey sweats in Mike Lambert - a Hawaiian native that went to Stanford on a full ride. He and his Partner Stein Metzger (also from Hawaii) Both of 'em played together in their H.S. vball team in Hawaii. They took second place at the end of the day.

The "Tour" starts on a Friday and ends on Sunday with the top seeded teams going into playoffs.

I only competed in 2X2 grass but played 2X2 on sand for fun. Good stuff! Looks like you had a good time there Moochy. Wish I coulda joined ya. Also looks like ML's got a pretty good vertical there.. sheesh! And the ladies got all the goods!

Yup = back in da day (and about 80 pounds lighter ) I played AA grass doubles, also played a few indoor tournaments but loved playing Beach Doubles in A-AA Santa Cruz Tournaments. My bad knees (from playing soccer) finally caught up with me and my competitive days on the beach ended   I still try to play as much as I can but my "healing" time takes longer these days   But I sure miss the sport and the lifestyle that comes with it.
