UPDATED

I will be reserving the Hetch Hetchy group campsite in Lake Del Valle for Oct. 12-13 =  Friday 2PM to Sunday 12PM....(it's the only open date I can get)

Mission: To simply hang out with fellow NCKA'ers and do some eating, camping and kayak fishing  :cook :camp :fish4 :yak :smt035

More info on Lake Del Valle (Directions..ect...)
http://www.rockymountainrec.com/lakes/lake-delvalle.htm

more info:

1. no alcohol allowed on the site
 2. $250 cleaning deposit (so make sure to clean the site afterwards)
 3. 2pm checkin,  12pm checkout
 4. only allowed to use commercial (store-bought, packaged) firewood
 5. cars are locked in to the park from 8pm to 6am
 6. no cell phone coverage, use payphone at boat launch for emergencies
 7. 1 mile hike in from parking lot to campsite (15 minute walk, 5
minute bike ride)

I need to get an official head count by Sept 26 so we can be billed accordingly. AND we will also be give a certain number of free parking passes for the duration of our stay - I will get more info on this as soon as I turn in the official head count. I will also find out if there will be an extra charge for having a dog.

*The camp check in will be Friday after 2PM and check out Monday 12PM

Please respond to this email with the number of people you are bringing with ya...

Example:

Ferris Bueller + 1 guest

Scott / Great Bass2 had also suggested that we should have a small kayak demo day and some clinics for the newbies on the site...so, if your a newbie - and still with out a kayak, please post and add  - "need a loaner kayak"

Example:

Ferris Bueller + 1 guest - need a loaner kayak

This way, we can get other members to help out and bring extra kayaks for those in need.

So, let's get this going......sound off asap :smt006

Mooch,
Correction to the rules @ Del Valle:  No Alcoholic beverages except beer and wine.  Good news for the beer lovers.  Check it out http://www.ebparks.com/files/Del_Valle_camp.pdf

I am somewhat interested in going since Del Valle is one of my favorite fishing spots.

You don't have to hike w/ kayak.  Boat launch is near parking.  Hetch Hetchy is only a few minutes paddle down the lake from the launch.

Joel -

Can make it out the 13th or 14th but not both. Won't be camping. If there are newbies interested in a trout clinic, I would be happy to give one. I can bring my Trident if people want to test drive.

Big J + 0 + brownies (with nuts)

I don't need a parking pass because I have one through my EBRPD membership.

CPKAYAK,
Beer and wine are OK @ Del Valle, just not hard alcohol.  Check out the rules here: http://www.ebparks.com/files/Del_Valle_camp.pdf

Direct from website:  • No alcoholic beverages except beer and wine are allowed
in the park. Users must be 21 years or older.

The lake personnel don't enforce anything else anyway.  Not that it is an excuse to break the rules, but the only thing I see getting enforced is the police boats on busy weekends.  They really keep control of the speed when they are there.  Good for us.
